When measuring barrel lengths, go from the gas port on the operating side of the receiver to the muzzle. The gallery stamp(s) signify function and accuracy testing. The gallery stamp is to the right of these and may be either one or two symbols or letters. The magnaflux stamp is most often a symbol inside of a triangle and usually appears to the left of the proof mark, but also may appear to the right or below it. proof mark is usually surrounded by an oval. I have found 2 carbines with saddle rings so far, something that was never offered according to factory literature from those years, leading to the conclusion that they were special order.tom Interestingly, some of the last ones have a curved lower tang and are fitted with 121 stocks. 57 were made in 1937, according to old records. I currently list serials ranging from as low as 256xx to 328xx built in 1936, with most numbers in the 28-328xx range. The decision was made at that meeting to discontinue them and use up the parts on hand. In around 1935 discussion was held on whether to offer in in a 22 caliber, probably a 218 Bee or something similar. About 200 were assembled thru November of 1922 and mass production started in December of that year with over 1000 built that month. Some of what it shows are build codes from 1922 to 1927.
